This large plate has great color and form! When I bought it, it had a uniform color and surface with no apparent damage. However, you can now see the obvious white spots of (minor) bruising damage. It cost me $1000 in China, and I added it to the update to show that these pieces can be made to look entirely pristine with a bit of mineral oil smeared onto them. When I purchased this, it was one that I thought would be a slam dunk for profit. However, acetone cleaning revealed what the oil hid. Now, it is a value for somebody who wants a big specimen at a low price, and also I wanted to post it as a cautionary tale for those who do not see day to day, the effects of oil to hide blemishes in some species where it works really well. This makes it hard to compare "apples to apples," online or even in person.
