A gemmy, yellow-green fluorapatite crystal from the Cerro de Mercado Iron Mine of Durango, Mexico. This sharp, hexagonal crystal is complete-all-around and pristine. The termination has a bit of embedded matrix and one side is contacted. Cerro de Mercado is a volcanic plug mined for its iron content and most apatites are damaged during blasting. This is a fine, gemmy crystal, highly representative and uncommon in this quality from this locale. Weighs 20 grams.
