A striking, large and very sharp, almandine garnet crystal aesthetically set on mica schist with a complimentary smaller almandine. This 5.2 cm, pristine, partially gemmy, reddish-brown giant is from a classic Austrian locality - Obergurgl, Otz Valley, Tyrol. A very fine, lustrous almandine from an important Austrian locality.
