The terminations of kyanites are usually rough and it is sometimes difficult to tell whether a crystal is terminated or not. But, most of the crystals on this specimen DO appear to be fully terminated. This is a whole cluster of crystals, grouped around a sparing quartz matrix. It is extremely 3-dimensional and dramatic in person, and looks more like a sculpture than a mineral specimen in some ways! Kyanites are generally thought of as opaque crystals buried in matrix, so specimens such as this are the rare exception. 9.5 x 3 x 3 cm
