This is a huge crystal with a shield-like termination, over an inch across, perched amidst others and massive pyrargyrite. It presents with a dramatic flair, and has impact because the crystals are so massive that at first it looks more like hematite than this silver species. It is slightly worn, on some edges, though it displays quite well. A fine Fresnillo pyrargyrite from the collection of Drs. Raul and Helen Madrid, and before them from Walt Bowser (who used to lead the GeoTour field trips to Mexico's specimen districts in the 1990s).
