Copper-colored sprays of Rutile are completely enclosed within a perfectly formed Quartz crystal - and not from Brazil, but from the alpine clefts of Pakistan! Although it looks at first like a single fat crystal, the piece is actually composed of three Quartz crystals in parallel growth with one of them happening to dominate the scenery. There are a prolific amount of Rutile needles within the Quartz crystal that spray out from at least three sources within. Hundreds of these coppery Rutile needles grace the interior of this great miniature and reflect incident light from every direction! This great piece originates from the Herb Obodda collection #2086 and comes with his label (it was in many of his previous exhibitions, worldwide, as well). A very unique example from a region we simply do not expect to see rutilated quartz from.
