This is the largest, richest specimen of the species I have ever come across and would be considered a significant museum-quality piece by any standard. It features a solid carpet of sharp, lustrous crystals running across the display face. Discovered only in the 1930's, this rare phosphate species was never found in good specimens beyond its original home at this old mine in the mountains of California. The mine is now closed, and specimens of ANY quality are quite rare. I was surprised to see this specimen turn up in an old collection in california, from a gentleman who had self-collected it some 40 years ago when the mine was open. (TYPE LOCALITY)
