A very RARE specimen, indeed! These gorgeous purple gem tourmalines were collected at a small pit in the early 1980s by a group of collectors which included John Sinkankas and Josephine Scripps. very FEW were found: less are available and most of those are thumbnails. This single crystal is all gem, though it needs good lighting to show it off fully because it is so darned thick. With strong lighting, though, it has a unique and rich purple hue to it that is quite evident in person. The crystal is the fattest such piece I or others I showed it to in the County know of.
