A particularly pretty specimen of malachite, polished to bring out its beauty, and distinguished by unusual (and unusually pretty) very dark bands that enhance the contrast between the light and dark, and shallow, light-colored quartz pockets that also enhance the pattern. There is plenty of malachite out there, but this is exceptional. Ex. Rebecca Stewart Collection.
