A fine crystal of this potassium aluminum silicate from the TYPE LOCALITY, the volcanic Mt. Vesuvius (leucites form from cooling lava, taking on this trapezohedral form). Yes, the same Mt. Vesuvius that formed this leucite crystal famously destroyed Pompeii in 79 AD.
