This is a very large, significant old-time rubellite tourmaline specimen from Brazil, which came with an old Sensel, Dr. Eugene collection label. This piece weighs 347 grams. It is translucent-to-transparent, with a beautiful cranberry color. The terminations on top are complete and undamaged, with a fine glassy sheen. This is actually a cluster of very tightly intergrown crystals, not a single compound crystal; you can see how pretty the individual terminations are along the top. The bottom of the cluster is dressed with silvery lepidolite books.
