Here is a classic and historic specimen of Fluorite from the Freiberg mining district in Germany. This small cabinet specimen features a cluster of gemmy, pale lavender to purple, penetration twin Fluorite crystals. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 3 cm on edge. In addition to the two generations of highly fluorescent Fluorites, there are small Galena crystals (up to 6 mm) and an iridescent Marcasite druse on the back. There are several dings on the Fluorites, probably indicative of the age of the piece. Nonetheless, good German Fluorites are very hard to come by, and looking so much like a Weardale piece, the aesthetics are undeniable.
