Here is an excellent matrix Sapphire specimen that came out of Pakistan about 10 years ago. The locality at Ganesh is one of the oldest and more renowned Sapphire/Ruby localities in the world, and has long produced some amazing specimens. The crystals on this particular specimen are sharp, lustrous and well-formed with pinkish color and are aesthetically sitting atop Calcite matrix. The largest crystal measures up to 1.2 cm long. The Sapphires show a color shift from a purplish-pink in indoor lighting to more of a pure pink color outdoors. These specimens are not coming out nearly as frequently as they have in the past. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
