The quartz from Herkimer Co., NY, USA have set the standard for great quality, doubly-terminated quartz. These got the nickname "herkimer diamond" due to their size, perfection, and brilliance but they are not diamonds! The main herkimer quartz crystal is 2.4cm and rests upon many smaller quartz crystals. It is complete all around and has wonderful translucency. A choice New York piece!
