A CLASSIC, EXCELLENT and OLD-TIME Baryte specimen from an old German locale in the Harz Mountains, 13 Lachter Stollen. Tabular, glassy, colorless Baryte crystals in radial pattern form this showy specimen, which has limited peripheral damage on one side. The piece comes with three, antique labels. Two are in German, one written on both sides, has dates of 1818 and 1861. The specimen was also in the Carl Bosch and Smithsonian Collections. Carl Bosch was a very prominent European collector who lived from 1874-1940. The Smithsonian purchased his collection in 1965, which numbered 25, 000 mineral specimens! The Smithsonian label number indicates an old piece. 5.0 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm
