There is something truly captivating about Rhodochrosite from the N’Chwaning group of mines, renowned for the prized, richly saturated, red, scalenohedral crystals. However, some specimens like this miniature genuinely stand out! This 4.2cm double-ended sheaf of gem crystals sits up beautifully and is sure to captivate in any display! Most of the crystals in this handsome sheaf of red are doubly terminated or terminate into one another resulting in an incredibly aesthetic cluster! The saturated strawberry color is stunning and the associated quartz coated Manganite provides visual depth for this piece. Illustrated in the Mineralogical Record issue “N’Chwaning!” (Jan-Feb, 2017, Pg. 98, Fig 229), noting that it was a part of the Marty Zinn collection (over a decade ago). A fantastic example from this locality and a superb example of the species as well. A meaningful addition to any fine mineral collection because of the rare style, good crystal size, and meaningful location importance.
