Long, intense, orange-red, pencil-like Crocoite crystal from one of the most recognized localities in the world for the species! The crystal is over three and a quarter inches long, essentially hollow most of the way through due to skeletal growth in which the exterior of the crystal grew faster than the interior and its terminated on one end! It exhibits subtle chatoyance throughout its length as well as faint lengthwise striations. This Crocoite is undoubtedly from the 1980s finds at the Red Lead Mine. Ex. Marty Lewadny collection. (he was a well known Canadian collector as I grew up, and I obtained his collection nearly 15 years ago)
