Very rare! Phosphophyllite is one of the most sought-after mineral species for collectors (and consequently can be expensive), as these famed, gemmy, fish-tail twin crystals were found in the 1950's and not in this quality since. This specimen displays the classic fishtail twin habit, high luster, exquisite unique seafoam-green-blue color, and it is completely gemmy. So gemmy, in fact, that every imperfection of the contacted back is visible within the crystal in the photos. The Phospho is simply too gemmy to photograph easily. Although one tip (the left) has a perfect cleave atop, the beauty and rarity of this specimen is really not diminished. This crystal also has a substantial amount of cutting rough material within which is worth the cost of the specimen, and more, as cut stones go for $1000 per carat among gem collectors. You need to see these in person to understand what a uniquely surreal, glowing color this presents! Very much better in person.
