Without question, this is a superb Ruby crystal from any locality with blood-red color and rich luster, combined with good translucency for the thickness. It is even aesthetic, as a specimen - and complete all around, too. For sheer quality, this is hard to beat for a franklin ruby. Beyond that, it is an important historical specimen that, I am told, would have been collected in the mid-1800s. A very rare treasure and a valued specimen in her small suite of historic Franklin minerals. 1.7 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm
