The Little Giant Basin in San Juan County has produced some very attractive Quartz specimens, including fine skeletal Amethyst specimens. These specimens are sometimes referred to as "Fenster Quartz" ("Fenster" = window in German). This piece shows excellent, sharp, highly lustrous, pale lavender skeletal faces on all sides. The piece is virtually undamaged. This particular piece was collected by noted San Juan collector, Robert Stouffer in September of 1991, and is a superb example of the type of specimens that can be found in the Little Giant Basin. Ex. Jaime Bird Collection.
