Rich nests of curved and curled silver wires decorate this small cab from the historic, world-class location of Pribram in the Czech Republic. Some of the Silver wires are have a fabulous patina and stunning, curvaceous shape, while many are coated with Acanthite. A good portion of the matrix is Silver replacement after Pyrargyrite (and very hefty). Pseudomorphs involving Silver are a signature characteristic of Pribram. Acquired by Bosch in 1884 (on back of his original label). Formerly in the collections of Carl Bosch and the Smithsonian, as well. Kay actively sought such things, and this was yet another ex-Bosch rarity sold to her (in 1972) by her good friend, dealer Walt Lidstrom, who scoured the Smithsonian drawers for rare classics like this which he could trade out of the museum for her.
