A superb, multicolored specimen with small, elegant, translucent yellow pyromorphite crystals coating an earlier generation of orange, barrel-shaped crystals (colored by arsenic). This piece is 3-dimensional and complete all around! It is almost pristine, with just a few insignificant small crystals missing here or there. It has the top luster you could wish for, in an Idaho pyromorphite. The wet, sparkling look is much better than the norm, as well. The orange crystals' style and color is characteristic of the mid-1990s production here, at this mine that is now not only closed and defunct, but a toxic Superfund site as well. This is from the collection of Dr. John Mijer, a well known collector of Bunker Hill pyromorphite. It is an unusual, extremely choice specimen of high quality (and "they isn't making more!").
