Very good cabinet piece from the southern Illinois Fluorspar district. These Fluorites, which reach up to 4.7 cm, have good luster and textured faces. They are a rich, true purple - the kind of purple that you think of when you say 'royal purple'. Definitely eye-catching. The Galenas have very good, metallic luster and finely stepped (almost scaly) faces. The largest is 3.3 cm long. An aesthetic, rich-looking cabinet piece. Note this is not from the Lillie collection, but another old collection we got near the same time.
