Photos speak for themselves, this being a highly elegant and unusual specimen for what it is, a matrix thumbnail with multiple isolated crystals from this most desirable of all rhodochrosite finds. The large central crystal is 1.5 cm tall, and all are perfect and gemmy and with the good color, on sparing manganite matrix. From finds circa 1980, you do not see them survive like this! From Ernie Schlichter, who was the original owner and one of the earliest serious thumbnail collectors of the East Coast TN gang, it then passed with the core of Ernie's TN collection to Shields Flynn, where it has remained off-market for nearly 50 years!
