Red beryls ("red emeralds") have always been frightfully expensive, but now that there are no more, they are simply getting even more expensive. Though this specimen will not win any prize as the best of them it is highly representative and pretty and quite good for what's on the market nowadays: any decent-sized, well-formed crystal with nice color is now very desirable. This crystal is actually two crystals lying end-to-end with a junction in the middle. They measure 0.9 cm and 0.7 cm respectively. The crystal at the edge of the matrix has a complete and nicely-exposed termination.
