The Himalaya Mine has been one of the premier tourmaline localities in the United States, and this gem is a classic from there. It has the excellent silky luster, good deep pink color, and fine termination that you would expect. Additionally it is very translucent. On top of that, it is attached to a doubly terminated quartz crystal. As with so many other Himalaya mine matrix tourmalines from this highly disrupted pegmatite, it has an expert contact repair (at the junction to the quartz) that in no way detracts from the competition-quality aesthetics. It is simply an excellent miniature from an important mine. ps...its a doubly terminated crystal and in fact so is the quartz! 4.5 x 4.4 x 2.7 cm
