This specimen came from a one time find (2003) at Siglo XX which only produced less than 2 dozens specimens of this material. It's actually amazing that these specimens have not been found in the past considering the age and vast quantity of specimens that this locality has produced. The piece is composed of a beautiful blue Vauxite "ball," which is actually covering/replacing a spherical Wavellite aggregate. You can actually see some of the fibrous radiating Wavellite crystals in the center of the specimen. To top it off, the Vauxite "ball" is bisected by a sharp, colorless, gemmy Quartz crystal. There is also some associated black Cassiterite on the specimens as well. This "ball" is one of the largest, if not THE largest individual sphere from the find. This piece is extremely unique, and comes from the type locality for Vauxite to boot. Ex. Brian Kosnar.
