A classic Bisbee style! These sharp rosettes of azurite on malachite matrix are one of the most signature styles of the most famous copper mine in mineral collecting (and for that matter, one of the most important mines in the history of the USA and Arizona, as well). This style is found only in older pieces from the circa-1900 era of mining here, or from a few intersecting shafts that were accessing the same orebody a few decades later. In any case, they only turn up in old collections. This is a large, showy example for the price, as I have often seen the Arizona collectors value these, when sold, at a much higher valuation. Old piece, Ex. Robert Trimingham Collection. Joe Budd photos.
