Hematite takes so many forms, but I have always been mesmerized by the brilliantly lustrous flat crystals from Nador, which have come in bits and spurts for decades. Most are fragile and can barely be handled, and frankly all look rather similar. This is from a single pocket of beast-sized crystals found around 2010, exhibiting incredible hoppered growth in large sturdy crystals. Hoppering occurs when the crystal edges grew faster than the center. This hematite has splendent luster along with a mirror-bright silvery black color, and for the combination of shape and color and form is just mesmerizing! Comes with a custom lucite base, to display it upright.
