This is a superb, prismatic, transparent, teal blue-green Fluorapatite on a shard of Feldspar matrix that is a world class miniature on its own merit, aside from the amazing fact that it is surprisingly from Burma. The crystal is very lustrous, at 2.6 x 0.8 mm, and it has beautiful form with rounded edges and terminal faces that give it a soft artistic look. It's a super-gemmy crystal, nearly perfectly eye-clean, and as seen in the photos, the piece also color shifts quite dramatically based on lighting (LED vs Fluorescents). This coloring, the luster, the gemminess together is very distinctly Burmese, and this is an unparallelled example of a miniature matrix specimen. The crystal has one clean repair about 1/3 from the bottom (it could be stabilized only, but we will call it a repair to be safe). This material came out in the very early 2000s and nothing of comparable quality has been seen since...from ANYwhere. These gem apatites, for color and luster, are surely best of species, gram per gram. Mark Mauthner photo.
