A fine, old-time combination specimen from the Ilfeld area of the Harz Mountains. Lustrous, jet-black hausmannite crystals are richly scattered in pods on the contrasting, cream-colored baryte blades. Classic, seldom available combination material from this historic locale. Comes with an expertly handwritten, faded label from an older collection. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I.
