Corundum (Var: Sapphire)
A gemmy, colorless, doubly terminated sapphire crystal with iron-oxide staining. This classic, striated Ratnapura crystal has moderate luster. One side of one of the terminations is bruised, but is out of sight. You do not see very many of these on the market anymore. Very representative of the species and locality. Ex. George Elling Collection.
