These Riemvasmaak fluorites are always pretty when the crystals are transparent and sharp as these are, but this specimen is truly unique. Why? Because the fluorites grew on the side and base of a sharp, euhedral crystal of milky quartz - which then grew partly around the fluorites. Interesting and unusual. The larger fluorite measures 1.5 cm.
