This specimen was collected by Richard Kosnar on April 15, 1973 in the famous Jamestown District of Colorado which is northwest of Boulder. This pegmatite region has produced some very good specimens of a few species, such as Tornebohmite-(Ce). This specimen hosts a "vein" of grey color Tornebohmite-(Ce) which is wedged between dark (nearly black) bands of Allanite-(Ce) on K-Feldspar matrix. The specimen was reportedly analyzed by Hal Miller in 1974. Hal Miller was the co-author of the famous "Colorado Mineral Belt" article in the November/December 1976 Issue of the Mineralogical Record. A great association specimen combining a pair of rare-earth species from this classic Colorado locality. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
