Classic Libethenites, such as these curved, pseudohexagonal crystals, came out during the 1970's, with the mine closing soon after. Intergrown and 8 mm on edge, these uncommon copper phosphates have the interesting form, high luster, and deep-green color that is so desirable for the species. This particular find at the Nkana Mine produced what is considered the best of species, and from the fine aesthetics of both the crystals and the way they are perched on the matrix, you can see why.
