A choice miniature with a sharp, robust, lustrous, textbook-crystal of neptunite, perched on just the right amount of contrasting matrix to make this crystal really leap out in a case. Black, but not ugly...this is the world's only world class locality for the species as far as I am concerned (not to discount the manganoan-red variety, which occurs in smaller crystals). Now that the deposit is literally strip-mined and gone, no more of this caliber can come from the ground as they did, sporadically, over many past years.
