An old-time, highly lustrous, gemmy/translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite rhomb from the Emma Mine at Butte, Montana. The crystal is interestingly capped by a smaller rhodochrosite with a quartz crystal. Some of the sides may be cleavages, it is hard to tell. This is a highly representative, extremely gemmy and classic rhodochrosite from this renowned locale. Ex. John Ydren Collection.
