A colorless tip makes this pocket very unique, and dramatic crystals from this find of 2015 are hard to come by. The colorless variety of tourmaline is often referred to as Achroite, although that is perhaps not a scientific term as much as a collector term. The contrast is stunning: A classic polychrome elbaite crystal, this specimen is glassy and gemmy. The lower half of the crystal is light pink. The center section of 5 mm is apple green and the termination is as good as colorless - quite rare in tourmaline, actually! The mass is 18 grams.
