A rare, large, 3.4 x 3.0 cm, euhedral garnet crystal perched on massive garnet matrix from one of the Crestmore quarries of Riverside County. Some of the crystal faces are highly lustrous on this reddish-brown crystal, which is probably a grossular garnet. This old-time piece is very rare in this size and quality. Ex. Dennis Mullane Collection and comes with a faded label with a January 1948 date. Large for the locality, which is mineralogically important for its suite of species.
