Spanish fluorites, many say, set the standard for continental fluorite localities in Europe. There are so many varieties from these famous mines, but one stands out to my eye as a USA collector watching them over the years: the deep purple crystals, with see-through transparency to crystalized barite blades underneath, and sharp phantom lines within. This is such a classic combination of fluorite with contrasting barite, but more than that it is a dramatic and colorful specimen that showcases SHARP crystals and interesting phantoms that take the best specimens from this locality to a higher order compared to most other purple fluorites from around the world. With gemmy, transparent crystals to just under 3 cm across on edge, this balanced specimen is a superb example of what makes the fluorites from this locality so special. It is 3-dimensional and easily backlit on a shelf in any case, not too dark like many others can be in this size. Comes with custom lucite base. Photo and video by Joe Budd.
