Aesthetically perched on the side of a partial quartz crystal is a fine tabular, doubly terminated, lustrous and translucent, rich sky blue alkali-rich beryl crystal, measuring 2.2 cm across. This is one of the few dramatic matrix specimens recovered, and shows off the interesting crystal habit of this beryl varietal nicely. These were originally thought to be Rosterite or Vorobyevite, but further analysis by Dr. Federico Pezzotta confirmed they are alkali-rich beryls.
