Quartz (Herkimer Diamond)
Totally glassy and gemmy, this limpid and colorless quartz crystal reaches just over an inch, at 2.7 cm in length. It also exhibits incredible doubly terminated form - literally the textbook example of a "Herkimer Diamond,'" that are so justifiably famous world-wide and essentially unique in a world literally swimming in quartz crystals. Ex. Ed David collection (Ed was President Nixon's White House Science Advisor, by the way), this was one of perhaps a few dozen thumbnails the man owned in a famous, world class collection that sold for over $3m when we bought it at the time (early 2000s). That says a lot! It is a special, high quality piece that stands out even among the vast quantity of Herkimers, as a special item. It is a jewel, on display in a thumbnail case.
