From old famous finds of the Jos plateau gem district, this is a saturated orange crystal of spessartine garnet, 7.9grams. Such are few and far between today, as most were cut for faceting. This survivor is from the collection of noted African mineral legend Charlie Locke Key (after whom Ludlockite and Keyite are named), purchased by us over a decade ago and set aside for the future.
