Blue-purple apatite in large size, balanced with a quartz crystal, make this an important and aesthetic specimen for the classic locality. The apatite measures 4 x 3 x 2.8 cm in size and is EXTREMELY high in luster. It sparkles and shines! This is one of the more rare colors for apatite from panasquiera, and has not been replicated in modern finds at the same locality. This particular piece dates to the heyday of the mine in the late 1960s or early 1970s, as I know that it was sold by Larry Conklin at that time to a collector who has owned it since then. Minor quartz and siderite add accent to this piece, which can display in multiple angles and is complete all around. It is actually quite a significant small cabinet specimen for the mine. Joe Budd photos. Comes with a custom lucite base.
