Plancheite is a rare hydrated, copper silicate. This is a striking hemisphere thumbnail of vivid blue, soft to the touch, acicular plancheite crystals from the Shangulowe Mine of the Democratic Republic of Congo. You would not expect these fibrous crystals to be soft, but they are. Ex. Carl Davis Collection.
