A classic, old-time and very fine cabinet specimen from the Oppu Mine of Japan. Vivid, salmon-pink, bubbly, botryoidal rhodochrosite covers the undulating sculptural matrix plate. Rhodochrosite of this fine color was classified as "Rare," according to the handwritten notes on the label, which has a 1971 date. Ex. Mullane Collection. Excellent, large material from this historic locality.
