5.3 x 3.2 x 1.1 cm (Specimen); 0.66 carats; 6.64 mm x 4.48 mm (Gem) - The best known specimens of Cryolite are those from Ivigtut, Greenland, but they're very rarely gem quality. I have only seen a few pieces of gem quality Cryolite from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada, but they can be perfectly transparent and colorless. This set features a good representative crystallized specimen of white Cryolite which is paired up with a colorless "Oval" cut gem with nearly eye clean clarity. This rare halide is almost never seen in transparent examples, and faceted stones are few and far between on the market. Fluorescent!
