Mica is usually pretty doggoned boring, an opaque "accessory" mineral. But in some rare occurrences, the sheet-like crystals are transparent enough that even when densely stacked by the hundreds, as here, the resulting crystal "book" is transparent! This one has the added distinction of having a beautiful sea-foam green color to it.
