Four superb almandine garnets on/in schist, from Alaska. The largest is 2.5 cm, and is UNUSUALLY gemmy for these - they are generally so dark as to be practically opaque, but you see a lot of nice red flash on this large one (the camera did not pick it up but be assured it is there!) The four garnets are scattered in a nice pattern on the matrix.
