This is a large, sharp, robust crystal of beryllonite showing the typical serrated edges of the material from this locality (which are probably the largest fine examples of the species). I am not sure whether it is one crystal or multiples grown together in parallel, on a technical level, but it does look as if someone took the natural columns of many crystals and polished them off with a common termination. It is complete all around, a floater, with broad terminations upon the tips of the conjoined columnar crystal faces. This piece is remarkable for its condition, aesthetics, and good color (not too brown or gray). Also, it fluoresces an intense green hue under shortwave light. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, collected sometime in the 1990s. Joe Budd Photos.
